A Knit at the Movie at Ally Pally’s Champagne Bar

Posted by Deadly Knitshade on October 9, 2007

a knit at the moviesThis thursday sees the knitting event of the year kick off at Ally Pally. Yes, Twisted Thread’s Knitting and Stitching Show is here at last! Yay!

Even better this year we have been invited to take part. And like the knit soldiers we are we have thrown ourselves into it with all our woolly hearts.

We have banded together with the lovely ladies of Greenwich’s Meantime Knitters to create and run the Champagne Bar in Alexandra Palace’s Palm Court. Turn to the left as you walk into the door and there we’ll be.

The theme is A Knit at the Movies, and we aim to bring you the most knitastic Knit at the Movies experience ever.

The most fun part has been the display so keep an eye out for our nine posters. You might find them vaguely familiar but with a humourous knitty twist that will have you groaning in punny laughter.

Please come and join us for a knit, a glass of bubbly, and a bit of sparkle when you need a break from all the shopping and seeing! There’ll be at least one Stitchette there every day, so come and say hi. :)

Hi, I dropped in yesterday (Thursday) about 2 pm for a glass of champagne, although I went by several times in the day. I was hoping to meet an SnBer, but every time I was there the sofas were full of teenagers learning to knit. Are the London SnBers all teenagers? I enjoyed my champagne and did some knitting on my sock at one of the stool tables for a while, before heading home. Great posters!

    Hi Wannaknit,
We were amoungst the teens teaching them how to knit. I was there (curly red head) and so was Lauren (deadly knitshade – short dark curly hair). Thursday seems like so long ago now i can’t remember if Candice, or Joelle were there that day! It’s nice to know that we blend in to a crowd of teenagers though. I hope your champers was nice and hope to meet you properly some day.
