Yaaaaarrrn! Pirate and Sailor Knitting in lovely Greenwich 28th October

Posted by Deadly Knitshade on October 17, 2007

Ahoy there bilge rats and salty sea dogs! To celebrate the Maritime Museum’s latest exhibition ‘Sailor Chic’, we will be dropping anchor (not stitches) to take part in a huge nautical-style Stitch ‘n’ Bitch. Think Jean Paul Gautier Breton jumpers, Vivienne Westwood pirate style, and good old Captain Birdseye’s chunky roll neck.

Join some of London’s finest groups (Meantime Knitters, I Knit London, and of course us) for a special day of sea-inspired knitting. Whether you be sailor or pirate, be prepared to duel with knitting needles, dodge our yarn cannons, and have at least one of your hands permanently replaced by a crochet hook. There will be fancy dress for those of you scurvy knaves that dare…the rest of ye be landlubbers! And it’s all FREE!

SUNDAY 28TH OCTOBER
Time: From 2pm
Venue: National Maritime Museum
Greenwich
London
SE10 9NF

Map Website Nearest station: Cutty Sark DLR, Greenwich
