S&B Breast Cancer Care Blanket

Posted by laurapurlprincess on April 20, 2008

Back in the early days of S&B London, a blanket for Breast Cancer Care was begun, made up of pink squares knitted by S&B Londoners. With the Lion Scarf taking all our efforts, the blanket was put aside until a later date. But when Ladyfest London asked us to be part of their fabulous arts festival, celebrating female creativity in all its forms, we thought it was a great time for a resurrection of the beautiful blanket and time to raise some cash for Breast Cancer Care.

Here is the finished blanket that you can be in the draw to win by donating to Breast Cancer Care:

We have had a fabulous response from all you knitters and crocheters out there and so thought is was time to show the fruits of your labour to the world. Here are a selection of the fine contributions we have had so far:

From Ashley Mhent, Surrey.

From Helping Hands, Wales. A massive 206 squares! We could make a couple of blankets just from these!

From Gillian and her son at S&B London. The heart was cut out from a teapot cosy that came out a bit too small, but came in handy for this beautiful square.

From Patricia Brant.

From Iris at S&B London.

From Lynne Sidwell in Leicester.

Unknown contributors.

Apologies to those who handed over squares at the group and we’ve forgotten your names. Your contributions are much appreciated! Thank you.
