Knit a Poem – the last ditch stitch
Posted by Deadly Knitshade on October 2, 2009
The world’s first giant knitted poem is coming together. S&B Londoners have helped with the sewing but there’s still more to be done. If you have any free time this weekend (Sat 3rd and Sun 4th October 2009) get yourself down to The Poetry Society Studio and be a part of something fabulous at the Last Ditch Stitch.
The Poetry Society say:
Thank you to everyone who has helped so far on the knitted poem.
With the unveiling just days away, drop-in to the Last Ditch Stich to put the poem together! We’ve already come so far and the end is in sight as we sew those horizontal lines into the stanzas of our mystery poem. On Saturday and Sunday we’ll be occupying the Poetry Society Studio (from 11am), with hooks and needles ready to stitch the remainder of the letters and spaces together. It will be an all day knit fest with tea, coffee and refreshments and, of course, poetry! Drop-in whenever you like, and bring a ball of wool, a crochet hook or a darning needle if you’ve got one, and your favourite poem.
