Go Green (but not from eating too much cake)

Posted by Deadly Knitshade on January 28, 2010

This special meeting is to coincide with the University of the Arts’ GO GREEN WEEK 2010, during which there are lectures, exhibitions, talks, films and campaigning … and now they’re going to be overrun by knitters. Run, arty types, run!!
The arty student types tell us:

“The 8th-12th Feb will be the UK’s third national week of student action on climate change in schools, colleges and universities and UAL will be a part of it.  Following on from the Students’ Union first ever cross-UAL greening campaign last year GO GREEN WEEK 2010 is going to be BIG!  We are planning a week of campaigning, fun, events, lectures, talks, exhibitions, films, lobbying and awareness raising around the green agenda.  It’s the run up to Valentines day so we’ll be getting in the mood for romance and encouraging everybody to fall in love with the climate!”

In a bid to do something a bit kinder to planet earth we’ve been invited along to relive our student days by seriously taking advantage of special food and drink deals (including Kopparberg cider for £3 a bottle, making one cider-drinking knitter incredibly happy!!) at the student Hub Cafe. Sashay in, plonk your arty self down and showcase your fabulous knitting skills, darrrrrlink!

You will need to sign in when you get there, but do not fear! Security know we’re coming!
